Incredibles 2 – Some Incredible Changes Have Occurred

When The Incredibles first came out over a decade ago they were pretty much the big superhero ticket at the time. There was the occasional DC hero here and there, but this family was a big deal. Now the big screen is filled with all kinds of beings filled with powers everywhere.

We pick up where we left off, superheros are banned and the family id performing acts of good from underground. That all changes when once act of heroics puts them in the spotlight. Luckily for them a modern day mogul would like to get laws changed and superheros legal again, with the help of our heros.

Endless Runner + Platformer = Clustertruck

I love platform games. Jumping, getting that jump just right, avoiding the obstacle to land the jump just right. Take all that and add in the forward motion of the endless runner and you’ve got Cluster Truck.

Now before you get too upset with me, Cluster Truck does not have the forward push of your traditional endless runner, however you do NEED to move forward to play the game, so while not really automatically moving, you are kind of forced into it.

Penn & Teller Fool Us

I’ll try not to be biased here as not only do I love magic, but Penn & Teller are my favorite magicians.

If you enjoy magic on any level this show is probably for you. The premise is simple; a magician comes out on stage and does a trick. Just once. Then Penn & Teller see if they can figure out how they did it. They get one guess, if they figure it out the magician essentially loses. If they have no idea, then the magician gets to open for Penn & Teller at their show in Las Vegas.

Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War! This is the film where not only do we really meet Thanos, but where we get to see how he gets his hands on the gauntlet and the stones to complete it. (SPOILER?) Sadly, we don’t actually get to see him acquire the stone I was most curious about how he would get his hands on.

South Park – The Fractured but whole a funtastic adventure

I will start by saying; yes it was worth the wait. The next question everyone asks is, was it as good as the first one? That question is a lot harder to answer.

Just like in The Stick of Truth, when you play The Fractured but Whole, you don’t really feel like you’re playing a game as much as you feel like you are in a an episode of the show. The voices are perfect and the animation looks exactly the same as an episode.

911 on Fox

The show 911 airing on the FOX network has set out to tell the stories of first responders in Los Angeles. You see things from multiple perspectives as you jump around in each storyline. We get to sit in the dispatch area as calls come into the 911 call center. There is a team of firefighters that seem to be the first responders to many issues in LA. There is also a police woman that we get to ride along with.

The Dark Tower doesn't stand so tall

Let me start by saying I know I said I was going to review this when it was still in the theaters, but I have to say I am very glad that I didn’t. Having read all the books, and I was very concerned about this movie because of this tweet

I knew from that piece of information that we would be starting fresh, that this would be a new story picking up from the end of the last book. I didn’t know however that this would be the horrible journey that it was.

Big Mouth - A REAL coming of age story.

Lots of movies and TV show talk about being ‘coming of age” stories.  In those “adventures” however what we get is an adolescent of some kind making a mental leap from being a child to becoming an adult because of some situation they may or may not have had control over. Not the case with Big Mouth. It is the tale of several kids forced into a adulthood because their bodies have said it’s that time.

The Brave

With three of the same type of military rescue shows premiering this fall, I have chosen The Brave.

The show centers around the Defense Intelligence Agency. The main operation is handled out of a headquarters in Washington D.C. but the missions are handled in the field by a heroic Special Ops squad. This squad of specialists seems that they will have a new person or group to save every week.

In order to save those people they will have to travel to some of the most dangerous places in the world and deal with some of the most heinous people in the world as well.

Rick and Morty – The Adventures of a boy and his grandpa

Now, while it is true that Rick and Morty is a show mainly about the strange escapades of a teenage boy and his genius scientist grandfather; this show is very much not one that you would settle in the whole family to watch.

I discovered this show completely by accident. I was actually forced to watch it because of one of my jobs, and I am so glad I had to. I had to look into how the show and its characters worked because of a script writing assignment and it made me a loyal viewer.
