Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War! This is the film where not only do we really meet Thanos, but where we get to see how he gets his hands on the gauntlet and the stones to complete it. (SPOILER?) Sadly, we don’t actually get to see him acquire the stone I was most curious about how he would get his hands on.

Most of the film is simply watching Thanos get the stones, and using the powers of the stones he has gotten his hands on to help him along his way. The fact that he needs that stones and that they are spread out throughout the MCU means that all of our favorite characters get involved (minus a select few). The interesting twist for me is WHY Thos is doing all this. In the comics, love is the driving force, in the film that is not the case at all. In fact in the film it is hard to decide how much of a bad guy Thanos really is.

As someone with a Marvel Unlimited subscription (that is not a paid link by the way) I find it interesting to compare the MCU to the comics as I watch the films and TV shows. Now, based on that, I have no idea where they might take the next movie. Avengers: Infinity War did not follow the comics, and did not end on the same idea that the comics did.

The ending in the film is hard to digest. It is not really happy, but it’s not exactly sad. The fourth Avengers has a lot to explain and I don’t know if reading the comic books will help you out at all.

How was it?
TL;DR
A good Marvel film that is really just the first half of the story of Thanos, but if you’re looking for a kick ass super hero movie where the heros come out on top, this is not the one.
