When I first played this game I really enjoyed it. It was fun to gather the items, fix the vehicles, and get out of camp before Jason got you. There was thrill, tension, and drama! Then sadly, people got bored and started trolling each other taking advantage of the fact that camp counselors could actually kill each other.
Now let me say, I am not against killing your fellow player if it is needed for you to survive. If it is a case of you or me, I know you will most likely pick you 9 times out of 10 and I am cool with that. My issue is when the killer high fives the counselor after I am dead and then they move along to the next kill. Then finally at the end of the round the killer allows the counselor to get all the XP they can and get away. In my opinion that really sucks.
I will also say I do not bail on games. I don't rage quit and I don't leave a session just because my character has been killed. When I die I stick around and watch the action till a new game starts, Tommy Jarvis or not I stay till the bitter end (unless the joy of disconnect occurs, I really wish they could fix that). My goal is really to find a good group and play with that group. I believe that the cameras post death are a great way to see how others play and to learn how to play better yourself. There is no need to be done in that round and then leave the group and try to find a new one every time.
My hope was that with team killing now off, the trolling would end and some of the fun would return. At first this actually seemed to be the case. Sadly however, in the end during my dip back into the Friday the 13th pool, once one certain person became Jason the teaming and trolling returned. It was fun for a while, but not long enough.
It's really too bad that this game can't be played as it was originally intended because I think the thrill of the initial team killing was fun. To those players out there who feel the need to just interfere and cause so many issues that a cool element gets patched away I say, if you're really that bored with a game, play something else.
